So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

Annnnnd, go...

Dude was obviously not playing with a full deck. Unless he was trying to gain something from his obvious BS, I'd have a laugh & be on my way. If I were truly bored, maybe point him to the toy aisle where the other GI Joe's are.

I haven't seen any poser's here in West Virginia. They know better than to try it here because there is a lot of Veteran's around that would kick his ass. We take our service seriously and take great pride in it.

The guy in the image sounds like a typical moron. I am very careful I judging people with messed up uniforms. Unfortunately some WWII and Korean War veterans up in age make error in their wearing a uniform. I feel they did more than most of us recent veterans and it would be an insult to our nation not accept some error once we age. I would be so ashamed to correct a hero whom I am not fit to judge, they did more and got less.

My wife and I were in no law last year and there were three kids probably 18-24 yo maybe, with a sign that asked for help, they were Vietnam vets. It said "we" so I guess all three of them were.

You diffidently caught yourself a knuckle dragging loser. There are no real CPOs in the Navy that would ever call themselves an E-7.

Glad it wasn't my store (I am a Sporting Goods Department Manager). I would have had to rip him a new one.

Yeah, Green Beret airborne tank driver in 'Nam during Tet. I have met many more honorable vets that tell great sea-stories than posers though. We have a Marine at work that ALWAYS wears a USMC ballcap. Everyday. I just think it's a little weird.

What a dumb ass, anyone knows that a chief petty officer does not wear marine corps insignias
