So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

One of the biggest things I run into(fairly often) are the guys I meet who were "special operators" who had to have their Special Operations tats removed by cosmetic surgery because it might give away what group they were with. One guy (approx. 35 yoa) told me he now escorts religious missions into the jungles and how he had to single-handedly had to disarm six armed bad guys intent on raping the young women he was escorting. He left them tied up and would come down the mountain every day to give them food and water. I said " what about their relief? Wouldn't someone come checking on them?" He said that he was fluent in the language and would answer the radio whenever they were called and pretend to be them. I asked what his favorite weapon was while serving.....and he said it was the M-1 Carbine. I said that this was surprising since the forward assist and dust cover would make the charging handle difficult to operate. He took it hook line and sinker and told me that he was an expert with weapons and modified his M-1 to eliminate those issues. Told him I had to leave and go put my "sh*t shoveling boots on.....

He doesn't know the difference apparently. The navy rank system doesn't reach petty officer as enlisted- 7. The symbol is an anchor without the globe that belongs to the Marine Corps

CPO Michael Jiordano
Petty officer starts at E-4, at E-7 you are a Chief Petty Officer, it is a big deal in the navy.

We live in a country that almost anyone can join way claim to be a soldier/veteran hell we all did our jobs. Some had harder roads than others but I don't understand why anyone would want to wear the uniform it was never comfortable mine are all still an a box in my closet. I guess I don't understand the draw for people to pretend to one of us instead of just joining

Ya know, it saddens me how lazy these people are. If your going to go to all the effort in pretending on being in the military, at least they could take a few hours out of their day and prepare! Lol

While immigration is the highest form of flattery, wearing the uniform of those men and women who risk their lives and may have lost friends is unacceptable. If you didn't serve, you cannot wear it. Take it the fuck off right damn now!!
