So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

Annnnnd, go...

It's not about the wearing of uniform pants, or pt shirts. It's about wearing a full dress uniform, wearing it badly, while trying to pretend to be an honorable veteran, all while asking people for things that only veterans deserve, or else asking for handouts based on the fact (false fact, mind you) of military service and need.

SGT Josh Johnson - you are right. it's really about posing and representing that someone earned creds for doing something that they did not do. When I was a kid, I would often wear my uncle's shirts or jackets. No sane person would think that I was representing that I was in. Now, my 10 yr old son wears my blouses with caduceus and crow. or Boonie hat. He thinks it is cool and no one thinks he is a HM2. But when a grown person through clothes, statements or decorations falsely represents that they are either military or a vet, then that is a problem. And how come I never meet cooks and motor-t guys in bars but many recon, special forces or other serious badasses?

We know, people like to dress like the military. But unless you actually join. Leave the badges off.

Globe and anchor, Army fatigues and navy rank! At least he didn't steal from the Air Force, proof that even posers don't claim Airforce...lol!

On Veterans Day too!! very drunk with Broken engrish, Said he was originally from Vietnam, served in the U.S. Navy many years , had no clue when asked what his rate was, nevermind ship or base attached, then claimed he couldn't say because he killed people for a job. was sent out of subs to do so, when asked some very basic questions any boot would know he was lost. I bounced him outta bar and got shit from owner saying the guy was ex military. I set him straight too!
