So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

Yeah. He was posing as a Vietnam Veteran, Army Sniper with his P/U Truck covered in Window/Bumperstickers signifying Army Sniper, Vietnam Service Ribbon, Expert Badge and GO Army stickers.... So I took up to my VFW Post 2661 and introduced him to some Real VietNam Veterans..... When I left he was still out in the parking lot with my Brothers I introduced him too scraping off every sticker on his Truck!!

Wow, why do people do this? I'm proud to have served and would never think of doing such a thing had I not served.

How about the Air Force plumber who went on search and secure missions "crushing dead babies skulls" with the steel toe boots he gave his brother...

Civilian here: I'm extremely impressed that real vets don't just pound the shit out of these frauds.

Such shame. I'm a former Marine Sergeant. And I do not like someone wearing our insignias, especially when they did not earn them. They need to be called out.
