So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

I think a lot of people wear military articles more out of fascination and admiration for the military vs a more dishonorable reason. I don't usually feed into it when I see them. The only thing that bothers me is when people park in the spots in front of my local grocery store that are reserved for military vets. I understand this is just out of respect and as such there is no law keeping non vets from parking there but it is still a dick move. When I see someone park there and it is obvious they didn't serve I will ask what branch of the military they were in. In most instances they will actually go back to the parking lot to move their car.

In the almost 13 years serving this country and being in a non combative role. I tell people yes I have been deployed and talk about some of the experience but never have or will lie about any events that took place. No one ever willingly wants to take a life nor ever brags about it. If they do brag they are either lieing through their teeth or are mentally not all there. I had friends that made the ultimate sacrifice and it does piss me off hearing someone lie about being in more than seeing someone disrespect our nations colors (which is in equally footing in my eyes)

Wantabe what a mess on his attire...certainly not a uniform. Would like to know what units he was part of. They never can answer when you put those questions to them. Really pisses me off

I have never had seen this in my own eyes but yes it would upset me so much because I earned the title MARINE. I served from 1997-2001. Cpl USMC. Aviation supply in San Diego Cali. Enjoyed serving and very proud. Semper Fi to all those who have served and are still serving. God bless.

Devil dog is right. Nothing to brag about just the memories you have to live with the rest of your life. Have two beautiful girls now and they know dad went through and saw but know dad saves them from not knowing what he did before because it is a nightmare sometimes in our minds that we keep the horrors from our loved ones. Your right, nothing to brag about just the nasty memories we live with
