So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

Annnnnd, go...

Yes it pisses me off to know end. Especially when they start talking about combat. The only reason I have ever discussed mine was the VA said it helps to get it out to help with my PTSD

You would think that with all the publicity, these people would learn.

There's also another thing to consider here. Some states have an active militia force. For example, NY has the New York Guard. They're a legal militia force that reports to the Adjutant General of the State of New York. Their uniform is ACU with a black patrol cap and the NYS flag on the right shoulder, instead of an American. If someone who didn't know them saw them, they would assume stolen valor immediately. The giveaway here is that the name tape that should say U.S. Army says N.Y. Guard. It's important to ask questions before assuming.

Probably bought the stuff from an Army-Navy store to try an impress the ladies... what an idiot, if he had run into a real marine, he probably would have had his head shoved up his own ass...
