So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

Annnnnd, go...

I see people dressed in bdus all the time asking for money or wearing a baseball cap that says Vietnam Veteran or Afghanistan Veteran on it. I use to ask what unit were you in? whats your company commanders name? etc. I gave up asking because 98% of the time they were phoneys. Its a shame that people use the heart strings of patriotic americans for self benefit. I dont even use my id to get discounts at those few places that offer it.

As i was a fool and got in trouble when i was young i could not serve not for lack of triing but your past does affect your future. That being said i would have called the man out on the spot . I find it very disrespectful to all the men and weman of all branches . true combat vets don't talk about this stuff with civies
