So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

....and I guess he didn't realize his Major insignia goes in the middle of his patch, next to his Trident

Posers are a n insult to the service and sacrifices made by our service and women. My son serves in the USAF and righteously deserves our honor and respect; posers do not!

Not recently. Everyone who goes around wear military stuff, especially Vietnam stuff, is all legit. I do, however, wonder about all those panhandlers, standing at traffic intersections, claiming to be veterans, hoping people will take pity on them and give them loose change or bills.

Yes, In Kansas where we do have a military base, and one person claimed to be in a unit that no longer was in service. Had be taken out of service three years prior. He insisted that he was in that unit.

If you didn't serve, you have no business "pretending" you did.

I dont worry about those that imitate military personnel unless they lie and try to pass themselves off as being a on the military. That's when i get upset..
