So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

Annnnnd, go...

We navy chiefs use to wear kakies with anchor on our collars, ribbons, name tag with unit. I have run across many lately who wear mis-matched uniform at restaurants advertising free meals for veterinarians. Most could not speak English.

I knew posers while they were still on active duty, liars, telling tall tales of their exploits, and had never left the states.

If I am not mistaken, it is still illegal to impersonate a service member. Whether or not authorities will do anything about some one doing this or not remains to be seen.

I would of treated like I was talking to real soldier. Put he/she at parade rest and began chewing them out for being out of uniform till they admit they are not in the military while crying

Not lately. I was born and raised in the Army. My Dad served 36 years, my older brother served 4 and I served almost 6. It has been a long time since I served but I am damn proud of my service! I do not ask for anything and these guys make it hard for the rest of us.

I have a son serving in Germany at this time and I sure miss him.
