So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

Annnnnd, go...

Hmm - I see a lot of "homeless disabled veterans" on the sides of major intersections and off ramps to highways - when I ask them about their VA rating, they tell me they are 100%, then I ask how much is combat related they reply 100% - now - I am Medically retired with a VA rating of 100% and a CR of 60% - if what they claim is true, they are getting almost 6k a month tax free.

Second thing I ask is what units they served in and what places they were overseas - most do not even know how units are broken down, brigade, battalion, company etc etc.

these are the people that annoy me the most, I can live with some idiot dressing up and pretending to be - you can easily tell because they have no real clue how to set up their uniforms - but the one pretending to be disabled and homeless burn me.

When I was in AIT at fort Lee we was out one weekend and we saw a guy about a block from the main gate in a gas station with the corporal rank upside down on his blouse and specialist rank on his pc wearing dark brown work boots unbloused and flag on the wrong arm and bright red sunglasses on with a 113th patch on his arm claimed he was special forces because of specialist patch on his pc and he was with the 101st he even tried to correct a specialist that was with us saying there's no such rank as specialist, specialist is a qualification badge for your mos. Some people are just plain dumb

Brian Aden pvt. E1, yes i got busted in rank more than once. Not proud of it. I only served stateside in the early 90s. Posers should go to jail. Plain and simple.

I have not seen a poster yet. I've seen vets wear jackets and vests with insignia and patched, but they are not posing as being on active duty not making claims to being in proper uniform. I do wear an Air Force vet hat occasionally. We need to support our fellow vets and sort out the imposters with manners and integrity.

Way to many to read but has anyone mentioned that ignoring them might be a bad thing? Bad guys dressed up as service members might have explosive ulterior motives.
