So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

Annnnnd, go...

My fellow VFW members and I had to deal with a city councilman who posed as a Vietnam ex-Seal. We took it for awhile, and then sent him a letter asking him to stop, and telling him that we didn't want to embarrass him or cause him grief. He continued. We were trying to decide what to do when he came out with an election brochure which stated he was a retired Lt/Commander, US Navy. That was enough. We then got ahold of AuthentiSeal who told us he wasn't on the grad list for BUDS school. We then sent the info to the local newspaper and the heads of both political parties. He was exposed, lost the election, but never admitted he was a poser.

A fellow was getting free drinks at the bar. When I came in.I was introduced by a korean war vet who said he wanted me to meet a real hero. I greated him. I was told he was a MOH awardee. He was then told to show me his award. The guy hesitated but then showed me s picture of an awad and certificate. I asked his name, and looked it up on the MoH site. He wasn't listed. I called him out and said i would be calling authorities. As he left I told him never come through these doors again. At least he did know how to follow orders!

LOL, in all fairness, I spent four years, three months, twenty seven days, eight hours and thirty five min in the Navy, got out and joined the National Guard, was a staff sgt. in a mortor platoon and have no clue what the mos was. I was the FDC.
