So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

I saw a poser at Detroit Metro Airport. He did not have a Military Haircut, not shaved. No Military Bearing. He was wearing ACUs, Desert boots, ACU Patrol cap indoors. He was not wearing the uniform correctly and his behavior was nervous looking. Probably because he was soliciting donations from travelers in the baggage claim area. I did not confront him directly. I let airport security know what I saw and he was escorted away soon after.

Once in 1984 i worked in a car rental agency in Las Vegas.A young man came in dressed in Army Fatigues and wearing a Green Beret. He had just come from a gun show and wanted to rent a car.I asked him did he serve and he ran off a story how he was in the battle of the Ashau Valley. So,i'm thinking, that battle was in 1969,this guy was maybe 20,if that.He must have been five at that time.I never did say anything, just let it slide. Why tell a whopper like that???

I served in the infantry in Vietnam, was WIA and returned home to my prior life. I have moved on from my military experiences and have never used my service as an excuse for anything. The problem with a lot of vets today is they just can't move on and let every little thing, like posers bother them. Remember the key is to move on and forward , don't let your mind trap you in a bad place, or use your service as an excuse for your problems!!

Oh my fucking god, at least he was easy to spot. Some you just have to feel them out. I'm so damn sick and tired of people who want to steal valor from people like me and my brothers and sisters!! It's going to get ya in trouble from the real veterans!

E7 petty officer..lol. We need to overlook these posers. They wish they were like us and thwy have to pretend. Who knows what caused them to do this and act this way.. maybe their own lives are so bad they cant face it or maybe they wasted thwir whole life and regret it.. who knows. Either way they go to sleep every day knowing they are living a lie
