He's a soldier's best friend.
Photos of Army Spc. Andrew Brown and his canine companion, Rocky, recovering side by side this week after they were injured in Afghanistan have gone viral.

Brown and his military working dog were hurt by a roadside bomb "while searching for a structure," according to a Facebook post from the 89th Military Police Brigade, based in Fort Hood, Texas.

The picture post has been shared on Facebook nearly 100,000 times as of Saturday afternoon.

Brown arrived Friday at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he is being treated in the same room as his plucky pooch, according to the post.

Brown and Rocky are both "doing well," the statement said. A picture of Rocky recovering with a Purple Heart pinned to his collar has been shared more than 92,000 times, while the picture of dog and handler has been shared more than 1,000 times.

"Please remember them, as well as all our soldiers deployed around the world, during the holiday season," the 89th Military Police Brigade said on Facebook.
