I'm 2 months out from pcsing to Fort Hood. I know there's been alot of issues with HHG and POV shipping. Is there anything i should keep any eye out for or anything i can do to kind of protect myself and my family. Also, I heard the Army is switching to the GTC for PCS and TDY. Heard alot of negative feedback about this process. I dont want to hinder myself or my family with lost or delayed paperwork.

Well im farly certian that HHG is the same in just about every post ( iv always been a CONUS guy myself) but takeing into account your pov shipment ( which can take up to 5-7 weeks) and the HHG's...

Have you done you OUTPROS breif yet?

if its money you worried about, i think you can request advance pay up to 30 days when you pcs..

oh naw, got the brief part. actually had a soldier pcs not long ago and they actually lost her vehicle. just protecting myself because i know to a certain extent, some of these civilian companies could give 2 shits cuz they're getting paid regardless

holy $h1+, i hope your troop got it back! as for the companies, well do i have a story for you! i dont talk about my privite life very often, but i think in this case ill make an exception. about 2 years ago (when i got out) i was married to my ex-husband( yes you read that right) , and moveing to quebec, canada where we had our home. now, right before i was to take my ETS Leave i once again got the short end of the stick and had to go to JRTC for the 4th time 45 days from my ets. i had done HHG about 2 weeks prior. i still had to do my CIF, International Travel Breif, DFAS, Security Breif, Clear my property book with PBO, transfer all my gear to the next guy/gal to take over, and somehow i had to go to JRTC..( not that i really minded, cuz even though it sucks, going to the feild right B4 you get out is a pretty cool way to leave. i go to JRTC, along with the FNG's train em up, i get back with 3 1/2 days to clear post, and got it all done in 2, and out processed on day 3, and ...*ahem*..hid out at the b's on the couch till my sign out the next day. i drive home, which is 6 hours away non-stop from fort drum, get there, and my HHG was sopposed to come 3 days later. nope, nada, zilch. a month? nope. two? nope. i ended up driveing down to the borded, got there and the shipping facility had sent it back to drum, cuz it couldnt find the address. ( i guess they dont google shit)... it was a nightmare.
