I don't want to make it seem like it's about the money, but my unit was deployed before I got to them. I haven't had duty since June and won't return until September. So, I need a means of income, but I'm willing to work for it if course.

P.S. is it true that I can't complete SSD2 until I complete WTC after SSD1?

Why don't they have a rear detachment that you can drill with? You might want to check with your battalion.

I drilled with them once, but they are now dealing with the soldiers who are returning. They touch down in Texas first. I'm at Ft. Belvoir in VA.

talk to your battalion and if that doesn't work, call the state HQ. yes ssd 2 comes as auto enroll after BLC. if its not there then talk to whomever you can to get you reenrolled. if you cant get a hold of them, let me know and ill do it for you. Reach out to me via here if you need to.

Hello, I am in the Army National Guard and just finishing up my SSD1. Is there anything else I can do for pay?

There should be someone from your unit in the rear or maybe check with your higher command about drilling with them, most units also have additional duty days for pay to come in and work, does not pay as much as a drill but still money.

Volunteer as a Training Cadre member in your unit to prep new enlistees with Drill and Ceremony, General Orders, Rank Structure, Proper Military Courtesy, etc. before they leave for Basic Training. There may even be duties associated with the Family Support group in your unit and you get a chance to meet the families of those you will be working with once they return from their deployment.

You may want to get with your S3 that is still in the rear to see what is available. I know for the Reserves, I've put together a training plan for someone who couldn't drill with us which was a lot of online MOS specific training that he could put in hours for. There is also a lot of the standard AR 350-1 mandatory trainings (EO, SHARP, TARP, Accident Avoidance, etc) that may count.

It is possible to be registered for a higher SSD though your S3 schools NCO, but usually they want the progression to be in a particular order. PLDC/WLC/BLC is now considered a requirement, but if they can't get you a school date for going, then they may be able to register you for one of those other courses.

Really your best bet is going to your S3 or assigned 1st line supervisor.

You should be reporting and drilling with your Rear Det; if not the Bn. One of the two elements will be able to see if there is ADSW money for projects. Also sign up to go to school, TDY is there, just make find out if there is money in the State budget for that. Good luck Specialist.

See if you can get ADOS orders and detached to a close unit that are preparing for any form of training.

The order of succession with NCOES if not prior service is as follows: SSD1, BLC, E5 promotable, SSD2, ALC, E6 promotable, SSD3, SLC; etc
