Hello I was wondering if someone could give me insight on the Special Missions Aviation career field.

The Special Missions Aviation career field is meant to be a combination of Aerial Gunner, Load Master and Flight Engineer as I'm sure you're aware. The specific duties you perform vary depending on the platform you are assigned to. Some of the different platforms that are available are the AC-130U, AC-130W, HH-60's, CV-22's and the C-145 and C-146A. Like I said, your duties will vary depending on the platform. With the short time I've been on the C-146A I can say that you will mainly be handling duties of a load master and flight engineer. If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Yo, Forte! Came across this while looking for info on the career field. I got accepted and leave in January.

Are MH130s part of the platforms available too? If not, where are the AC130s get stationed overseas? The reason I'm asking is I have to give up my follow on (Kadena) in order to cross train. I would love to get USPACOM if able. I'm researching and it looks like 353rd SOG is stationed there. TIA
