Pretty self explanitory, Has anyone here used the VA to buy a home? If so, was it a pain and is it worth it?

SGT, yes I have used it and it was an easy process. First, you have to make sure you have the COE the certificate of eligibility. This is needed to verify that you have the benefit. The loan company, bank or credit union are the ones that make it difficult.

I’ve been trying for years to use the VA home loan to purchase a house. I just can’t seem to close.

However I did get a hard money loan from this lender who apparently is a predatory lender and somehow he can do a VA home loans but he never bothered with me. He just foreclosed on me without a care in the world.

A pain 44 years ago because I had marginal credit. Finally got a house and now living in my 5th house. Easier after the first go round.

Yes, I used the VA Loan in 1996, it was very easy and got my VA Home Loan Approved with no problem.

EASY PEASY I BOUGHT 3 HOMES WITH NO DOWN PAYMENT OUT OF POCKET. YOU NEED A CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY WHICH YOU GET FROm THE V.A. present that to the loan officer then your all set. the certificate shows you how much you are eligible for

I've used a VA Loan to buy all 3 of the homes we have ever owned. The inspection process can be a little more tedious than other types of loans, but it is to ensure you get a good solid home. No money down is a nice option. Just review all of your options with a lender to get what's right for you and your specific situation.
