Pretty self explanitory, Has anyone here used the VA to buy a home? If so, was it a pain and is it worth it?

Easily done. But you will definitely need to have a good loan officer. Mine went above and beyond to make sure I got it and didnt have to do all that paper work, he did it all for me. Bought a house in 4 days after he got me the preapproval, let me know if you need his info. His name is chris out of dallas Texas

I've got a VA loan I've had for roughly 16 years now and cannot remember any problems while buying my home and getting the loan. In fact, if I remember correctly, it was actually easier.

I am now contemplating moving to a new home and intending to utilize a VA loan process. Hopefully this makes is much easier than I had anticipated as far as financing goes...………. USMC Sgt. Noble

My home purchase is currently in progress. The process is so easy. If I didn’t have to go out of my residence to look at properties I could of stayed home during the entire process. I am purchasing a home using CalVet VA loan. I applied for a loan online filling out online forms. I Received a CalVet loan Rep. He emailed me a request for the required documents I needed, (DD214, bank information, W-2’s) I hand carried the documentation to his office instead of mailing them. In two days I was pre-approved for the loan. Everything document wise was handled online with emails between my agent, the CalVet Rep. and the Title Company. I am amazed how easy this is using electronic signatures.

Since my separation in 1971 I have only bought homes with my VA loan benefit. I built a home in 1997 with a VA loan and then over the years through 2016 I refinanced my VA loan 8 times! The Streamline Refi made it easy through my loan broker. A VA loan is the only way to go for qualified Vets.

I have purchased several homes using my Veterans benefits. The latest was in 2018 here in Texas. It is a relatively easy process but you do have to do your end and gather necessary documents and paperwork for mortgage and underwriting. As far as I’m concerned, it’s well worth the process and and 0 down is awesome for those with very little or no down payment . I hope this helps you and anyone else.

Yes I have used it twice. There is a fee the VA charges but it is added to the loan amount. Very easy and most well established lenders know what they have to do. All you have to do is get the letter from the VA that states how much they will back for you.
