Pretty self explanitory, Has anyone here used the VA to buy a home? If so, was it a pain and is it worth it?

It is worth it. I put $500. in Escrow for my house. I had to pay for a VA required inspection of the home. My realtor did everything else. I told her to have the owner pay any closing cost and they did.
After the inspection, The owner had to correct anything that was wrong and I also new what I was buying. Always! Always! cover your back and get a home owner warranty such as Choice, it's that extra little insurance that help in the event of appliance, plumbing, air or heat breaking down.

I have a home that I would like to renovate into a two apartment building. Have a mortgage of 70,000. Or...sell my home and buy something different.

Has anyone borrowed money for a major home renovation from veteran friendly organizations?

I'm in the process right now and it's awesome so far. Even with my extremely low income I was approved due to the fact that I won't have to have a down payment or PMI and very little if any closing costs.

I've purchased three of my homes as I moved around the country. It has always been easy. If it's not then you are talking to an unqualified mortgage broker/banker.
