Pretty self explanitory, Has anyone here used the VA to buy a home? If so, was it a pain and is it worth it?

I used the VA to buy a home, totally worth it. There is a 3% loan processing fee that the VA covers for you and they guarantee your home loan so lenders are more likely to give you a loan.

Is there a time limit or can you still use the VA if you had a bankruptcy 4 years ago? I’m ready to buy again and in a better position financially. Thank you.

2 years is the time limit for VA loans. 4 years for conventional.

Yes. This is my second. The first was in 1085.

Both were very easy as far as documents required. Good luck.

Why you want to know about the BAd ones? However it's ALL about how Veterans are being treated from different companies.

Many companies TELL Veterans that they have no need to put money down on the home, when they are going to purchase one. My Feedback to those companies is this, NOTHING is FREE.

The worst part about it is what happens on the BACKEND of these loans and the MANY,MANY FEES that are ROLLED into the Loans. I would rather (my 2 cents here everyone) put money to cover closing cost and PAY on the Principle of the Loan mot Mis. Fees.

I've never heard any legit "horror" stories about VA loans, but I still say that the VA Loan Guarantee program is not always the best option, ESPECIALLY if you are able to pay 20% down. I personally was able to beat the VA rate by a full 1.5% on a 15 year loan, that is HUGE money saved in the long run.
