I am going to school as an MOS-T 15w T the beginning of the year then I am suppose to pcs to Ft Riley. Does anyone have any positive information about Riley’s aviation units? How often do they go to the field and do rotations to place like NTC/JRTC and deployments optempo

Currently there. You’d be going to F/1-1 if you’re unmanned. I wouldn’t necessarily call anything they do “field” time but there are personnel recovery lanes (think of it as a very basic EIB/ESB). They just went to NTC but overall the tempo of any aviation unit is about the same as an ABCT—even though there’s well over a dozen of them they always seem to deploy.

I would try to stay away from the city Ogden. They are in the Guiness World book of Records for the most traffic tickets given to cars.

What did you do to get Ft Riley?
It's a nice place. Not much to do unless it changed since I've been there 1984-1986.

A lot has changed since then. I lived here from 2001-2015 and when I moved away I remembered it as I left. Once I came back to be stationed here, there were so many different things in a matter of 5 years

240 views and nobody has any input on the aviation units at Fort Riley? Or Just Riley and the General area. Is there good rivers to fish and are hunting/fishing licenses affordable?

I just got to Fort Riley a few weeks ago, most places are off limits or closed due to covid around here. There's plenty of rivers tho, if you're into fishing, you won't mind to much being here. concerning to the uptempo, I can't say much for CAB but my unit it self seems high tempo.

I can tell you if U are taking a car, be careful going through Ogden, it has the Guinness World record of giving out the most traffic tickets.
I know Riley has a new air strip.
It's been almost 40 years since I was station in Ft Riley. But I did go through to look at the Post 25 yrs ago.
Junction City depends on Ft Riley's soldiers for their revenue. Be careful down there, certain area is beware for soldiers.

It depends on the Troop you go to. C Trp. 1-6th is what I am currently with, and it's honestly really fun and nice here. People are laid back depending on the task at hand, and then they can make us do a lot of stuff at the drop of a hat. But my troop likes to get things done ahead of time so that we can be able to do different things other than stressing on getting our tasks done last second. But once everything is done, we basically just get to know each other better and also get to either relax or just kind of mess around the rest of the time due to nothing needing to be done
