Currently living in the barracks on Belvoir, it's not awful. Cooking implements like stove/oven are in the common area in each building. You might have a roommate, considering they can and normally try to put two people to a room. Two minute drive from the commissary. Just watch out for mold. Had it real bad in the first room I was put in. They moved us about two weeks after we pointed it out.

Are you at the hospital barracks? Not sure if there is a difference.
We heard e4 got their own room and possibly were able to move off post due to barracks being full.

As far as I'm aware there aren't any difference in the rooms. The hospital people might be in a separate cluster of buildings, but the set of barracks are the only ones on Fort Belvoir. If you get your own room, that's absolutely great. But just letting you know, we've still got E5's living in the barracks. Unless you're married or E5-P, I'd get nice and comfy. Hope this helps.

Strange. We heard different things about the hospital barracks. Thanks for the info, I'll pass it on to my classmates that are PCSing there this month. SGT (Join to see) -
