How are you supporting Veteran groups, and are they doing what they promise you with your help?

I have heard from several veterans how WWP has had questionable practices when it comes to taking care of those veterans that need help.

Personally I give NO money to WWP because of the very reasons listed in your article.
I give back to my local veteran community here in Tucson through the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association/CVMA (chapter 32-2). Our motto is "Vets helping vets." Our big project that we donate our time, money, and resources to is Escalante En Esperanza, a half-way house for (formerly) homeless veterans and their families. They provide fully-furnished apartments, paid utilities, food, and clothing to the vets and families. They also assist with getting them enrolled in social services, both local and federal (VA benefits for example if the vet isn't already getting VA benefits), vocational training, and even transportation.

Support only to those that you know them personally, and personally so that you helped them not only in term of donation, and also worked with them. As we all know, we are no where near rich ... every pennies we have is hard earned. "donate" carefully. That is the reason I rarely donates, because it is really hard to find an really go organization worthy of my hard earned money.

I have supported DAV and VFW for many years. I researched both groups before I donated any money. A VFW Veteran Service Officer helped me with my Agent Orange claim. These are the only two Veteran groups that I will support.
