How can I find out if my son has been deployed ?

The 82nd was not allowed to deploy with phones.

I know one way of doing it. Do you know his unit? The more information you have the better. But the American Red Cross can help you out. My father did that after he hadn't heard from me for a few months while i was stationed in Germany. Good Luck

When was last time you heard from him ?

Starting with his unit is probably the best bet. They always leave personnel behind or "rear detachments". These personnel always have points of contacts of family members in need of help, or God forbid something happens to him. Best of luck!
