My 368 has been sitting at Brigade for over two weeks with no update as far as my company has heard. Is it okay to call brigade and try to get an answer? It’s been over 2 months now since this process started and I’m dying to get the paperwork approved and go active duty..

Go ahead. Call Brigade. That may not end well for you as you could very well be asked "Did you run this thru your Chain, first?" You have to realize that there is no set time table to have 368s done. The AVERAGE time is 3-5 months (Command depending). Not to mention the fact that there is nothing stating that they have to approve it. You also need to remember that it is sitting on the desk of a Full Bird Colonel. A Colonel that has many other tasks and responsibilities to accomplish. Do not, I repeat DO NOT, rush a Colonel. Then, after that, the 368 still needs to go higher to TAG.

OK. Your DD368 probably isn't sitting at Brigade since they aren't the approving authority, unless you are one of those odd separate brigades that is commanded by a general. It's probably sitting at your State Headquarters waiting to put it in front of the General. Since most of this kind of activity happens on drill weekends, figure that it will take a few months before it hits the level that can approve it. I would consider six months fast from what I've seen in the past.
Now the bad news. The General does not have to approve it and a lot of states are pretty strict about releasing someone that isn't close to finishing his original contract. I would check with my Readiness NCO first about where it's at. You can request an open door with the Commander and see if he would let you hand carry it. None of this is mandatory for them and they can just tell you no.

SPC(P) (Join to see) - You have a point of contact, have you tried to phone or E-mail that individual?
I can tell you that the above is not policy in most states.

CPT Lawrence Cable I just talked to my recruiter and he said most AGRs are telecommuting so he pushed it up through his PoC and said he’s gonna see what they can do. I know it’s a rare policy which is why I’m taking advantage of it.

SPC(P) (Join to see) - I would suggest an e-mail to the CSM Martin. Even working at home, people read their E-mail and this Memorandum lists him as the POC, so he should expect things like this.

You can use your leadership to make an inquiry but I don't know if I would recommend a PFC calling Brigade directly to rattle some pots and pans

SGT Charlie Lee after only 4 months at my unit I’ve won Soldier of the month board, been bumped up to HQ, gotten coined, and now getting wavered to SPC, 6 months ahead of time.

To the others I respect the CoC but I also believe leaders REGARDLESS of rank should be working for their junior soldiers. If you wanna piss on my wheels of progress After I’ve asked for your help because you’re “too busy” or have other pressing matters, I’ll gladly go to the next chain because he’s gonna find time to help me out. Higher ups work for the juniors. Always been that way.

And the officers at Brigade, CSM at state were seriously concerned about how I was treated and squared it away fast BECAUSE that PFC with “no weight on the collar” was professional and gave every level of CoC a chance to help and only wanted to better myself.
