I’m 5’5 pushing 5’6 and I went to meps and they said I was 159 and I need to be at 154 for my weight. They did my measurements and I didn’t pass. They said to come back on December 7th to re do my height and weight. What is the best way to loose weight? I work out 3 times a week with a trainer and 1 time a week with the future soldier program from the army. How should I go around in loosing my weight so I can pass? And what would happen if I don’t meet the weight by the time I have to go back to meps? This will be my 3rd time at meps

Less intake, more physical output. Spend a day in dry sauna before weigh in.

Drink at least half your body weight, in ounces of water a day. Cut out sugar. The only sugar you should get is from fruits and veggies. You also want to eat more veggies than fruit. Cut your calories. Don’t skip meals, but eat less at each meal. Get in at least 10,000 steps a day. This around 3 miles plus what ever moving around you do for the day. If you drink coffee, drink it black. If you do this, you will cut weight. But, you have to keep it off. My suggestion is to cut 10-20 pounds below your target weight. This will allow you to go on vacation it take a weekend off and eat or drink what you want and still stay in your limits. Don’t fall off the wagon to long. Change your life forever and not just an entrance exam.

A pound is 3500 calories. The average calorie intake for you will be around 2000 calories a day. Enter your data into the Mayo Clinic calorie calculator for an exact number. If you limit your self to 1000 calories a day, you should make your weight. Do not add salt to your food, no fast food, and plenty of walking.

Try substituting 2 meals a day with protein shakes and do basic calisthenics for at least an hour a day and stay active. I lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks that way. I then adjusted my dietary intake to maintain it. It might work for you.

Carbs carbs carbs = sugar sugar sugar. Don't do any of those and also do a water load so you can shed it a little before weigh in. YouTube how fighters lose a weight class by drinking excess water for a week then losing it all the day before.

Learn the calorie content of everything that you eat. Burn more calories that calories from food and you will lose weight. Weight yourself every day.
