So since I’ve arrived at Ft Riley, I’ve done nothing but work on my EOD packet. I had to retake test and annoy a lot of people to get everything done and sent in. When I got my letter of exceptance I sent up my reclass packet via my career counselor who ensured me that she rarely see’s them get denied. Well, mine did. I’ve jumped through a lot of hoops to get this far because it’s what I’m passionate about and what I want to do. I really need help for any way I can convince my branch to release me, because 19d is so undermanned they won’t but there has to be somthing I or someone else can do, any feedback is appreciated

You've got it all mixed up. Your branch doesn't have a say in releasing you. That decision is made by strength management. Like any employer, it comes down to who they need to hire. Right now the Army needs more 19D1 than they need 89D1. Your feelings, wishes, and desires have nothing to do with that decision and there's nothing you can say that would change their mind. However, you can continue to put in your request once a month, every month, until they approve you.

The needs of the Army will prevail, especially in Combat/low density MOSs. All you can do is to be persistent by periodically resubmitting and doing your current job tobthe best of your ability. Thank you for your service.
