Im trying to volunteer to help the services in a serious intellectual way allowed under my total perm disability. It's been really rough going for many reasons, honest. Hopefully, I've convinced all of you by now that my mind is suited for nothing but teaching and/or research, since my treating patients is no longer possible. If any of you have any thoughts, I'd be most grateful, many thanks.

Immeed to try to do something in teaching and/or research, believe me, my wife and I have been looking for nine years now, for real. I'm just not suited to do other stuff, no !after how socially redeeming. I wish I were, I just know what I'd be good at, and/or be useful for. I've got a good deal of training and/or experience, however, we're unfortunately pretty hamstrung by the rules and restrictions I'm reqd to follow. I realize that might be rather hard for many of you to wrap your heads around, I think I can grasp why, it's just that many of you are still in, and, to be candid, I'm just hoping some of you might perhaps be high enough in this food chain to be able to help me try to do so!E thing intellectually real. I mean, you've all seen by now, many of you, the background I could bring to the table. I'm just need help to convince others even higher in the food chain that I might well possibly be of use. Believe !e, I've tried, for real, CAP, USCG Auxiliary, Naval Sea Cadets, JROTC, Young Marines, volunteering to tutor at one of the academies near us, there's also an ROTC unit near is as well, as well as trying to volunteer to help with research at the VA hospital by us. If we didn't need serious help to find a way, believe me, I wouldn't ask all of you in this fashion. I know I've asked this before, I realize that, and trust me when I tell you all that I've sifted this to the very bottom, of that you may all be certain. I've really seriously researched the rules, and only a couple of ways are available to me. There's a mechanism under the Domestic Volunteer Service Act (DVSA), involving the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), which is part of SeniorCorps under national service.gov, I've looked at that. I might also be allowed, maybe, to volunteer under MWR programs, since we have the cards, my wife and I, to let us !ake ise of such things. Its just thst, I've been military, I've been a research sciemtist, I've been, till my disability, an allied health doctor, though we had to have me shut my license sevl urs ago, as I've also explained, many times. I mean, I've got six earned degrees in the physical and biosciences, with about two or three decades of serious related experience, before my disability, honest, thats why I just can't play act, honest. If I'm gonna be used, I'd love to be, however, I kmow me by now, I know where I'd be of the most potential help, for real, OK? I'm not meaning to be disdainful of other volunteering stuff more typically suggested, I just wouldn't be good at it. If all of you have read what imsend in on the sciences, I think, hopefully, you can all perceive why by now, OK? If, for those reasons, any of you know others on here high enough, with sufficient clout, to be able to help me try to find a way, maybe STEM tutoring, or something really high end, and able to help me find a way to be able to do!such things despite my disability, believe me, both my wife, as well as I, would be genuinely and most seriously indebted, honest. Time hangs quite heavily for us, esp. for me, it's not that we don't have a normal existence apart from such ambitions on my part, I just find myself craving such a creative outlet, it's just that the restrictions I'm under are really pretty Draconian, and, for those reasons, as I've said, finding anything like that, or getting admin types to be able to wrap their heads around the problem has obv been really rough going, or I wouldn't ask all of you for that level of help, for whatever thought all of you could give to the whole thing, any suggestions would be really seriously mucho appreciated, I'd try to explain as much else as I can, if needed to, many thanks.

How about volunteering with the Red Cross Service to the Military Division? Lots of things that need to be done. Some can be done from home via a computer while others require some travel.

Someone had suggested that who's seriously looking st that. I realize why you're suggesting the online thing, however, imcravemthe touchymfeely of students, !ixed with a genuine need to get out of the house. If only to get out of !u wife's hairz honest. Seriously, I've explained that, and others are trying to help, however. If youmcam, read what else imsemt in here just now, if any of the admims on Jere could refer me up the food chain on here, honest, it could be of immense help. Trust me, the Red Cross idea was suggested. Honest, we're getting what help we can, someone I've chatted with knows someone iin that world and is reading thoughts, I'm just looking for even higher help, so far as I can find on here, many thanks.

Would you consider getting trained to teach the pillowcase project? Or work on our Sound the Alarm? These are nationwide. Start the process at Red Cross Volunteer Connections and fill out the questionnaire on what you want to do and get matched with projects.

How are you rated total and permanent? Under IU or schedular? If schedular, you can work as much as you want and not worry about it. If you are under IU, then you can't make more than under poverty level.

I hope you find something for you to do. I vounteer as a representive for one of the veteran commitees in my area. Also I am commander of one of the local veteran groups. As well as volunteer where I can to help veterans as needed.
