I relied upon my training and battle buddies to my left and right. I felt responsible for them because we are a family. Once I had that drive and motivation nothing could stop me, it is an adrenaline high like no other

Hmmm. I experienced this high, somewhat, while I was in Basic Training and on into AIT; as I recall. For you, though, that adrenaline high must have been beyond belief powerful.
Now I know, first hand, why you guys love combat so much. I also knew a SFC who liked taking care of his soldiers.

SPC Margaret Higgins I prayed and my faith got me through. Training was paramount, lastly team work and good leadership helped me through 6 combat deployments. Oh common sense doesn't hurt either.

That makes total sense to me; SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL- about your praying and your faith. I'm sure that your being a good leader, helped you and your team mates; as well.
And common sense in tow.
Wow, You certainly had everything going for you, did you not; Sergeant First Class.
And with God: how could anyone lose. :)
