Elizabeth, it’s a very interesting field to get into with rapid changes in technologies and ways the job is performed. The career field is undergoing another overhaul though in its infancy stages now. I’ve traveled all over the globe for temporary duty assignments to support all kinds of operations from Special Forces to NASA, among numerous deployments to the Middle East. At the time I was in (67-74), 4 month tech school after basic. First permanent station was Shepard AFB. Good duty and had a chief who taught me more than school did. Sent to Saigon, followed by Onizuka AFS, Ca. Both assignments required SCI clearance and were extremely interesting. From what I understand, today's WX AFSC is significantly different. I enjoyed my time and still "watch the skys".
