I have a fellow SSG who will be receiving their first look for SFC this upcoming board. On their last 3 NCOERs the NCO has different Heights. SM has a height of 71in on his SRB but on his last two NCOERs he has 72in (SSG Eval) & 68in. (SGT Eval). SM has 71in on all previous evaluations. I have already informed the NCO that it is their own responsibility to verify the accurateness of their administrative data on their NCOER and that by them signing they are pretty much telling HQ DA that this information is accurate. SM is in excellent shape and their weight always stays between 155-165, I included the SMs weight because I know from reading the Field AAR's of previous selection boards it states that there were numerous inconsistencies with SM's HT/WT on NCOERS. It went on to say that SM's were getting taller as weight increased progressively through Evaluations, so they were pretty much trying to "game" the system. Which is not the case for this NCO, he was well within the WT standard on every evaluation no matter height, and it is obvious when looking at their DA photo. The NCO in question is just guilty of not paying attention to their records. Just want to get feedback to see if anyone has dealt with a similar situation, and how detrimental is it to the NCOs chances of being selected for promotion for this board and the future.

As you've seen in the AAR's, it's viewed very poorly. If I was him I wouldn't worry about it as long as I looked fit in my picture and the weight was on my NCOERs and stayed consistent. 165 is low enough to be below the screening weight for all of those sizes.

SFC (Join to see) This is something that they mentioned at least in the last two SFC selection boards (probably more than that) and it is something that it falls on the individual that is rated because YOU HAVE TO really look at those things. However, it is also responsibility of the Rater and Senior Rater to look at those inconsistencies since they are putting their signature on that evaluation. It can be a hit or miss on his/her case. Hopefully the DA Photo demonstrates that the NCO is not overweight. Good luck to that NCO...

It will still weigh on the CSMs mind. As you stated it extremely important to ensure the admin data is correct before signing. If the NCO excels in all other areas then he should not have a problem in the end.
