You can’t. You won’t be eligible for an ASI until after you complete your 17C training. By then, the tier 10 bonus will probably have changed

SFC if I am already locked in for training, is there a certain time frame I must sign my reenlistment?
My dillema is, if I reenlist now I will only qualify for the under 23 month bonus of 5300. But if I wait until Sept, I will qualify for the 24-36 month bonus of 11200, but I'm afraid my slot will not be guaranteed in two months.

PFC (Join to see) you are required to reenlist within 30 days of being locked in for training. If you were allowed to wait until September there is a great likelihood you would get no bonus because they often run out of money at the end of the fiscal year. If you pass 17C there will be lots of opportunities for big bonuses in the future. There is a $200,000 lifetime cap on total bonuses that you will probably max out as a 17C once you are in the field

Thank you so much for all your advice SFC. I reenlisted today and thought I missed out on extra 6000 bonus if I had waited 2 months to reenlist. But securing this earliest class date is far more important than some extra cash. I did not know the army could run out of bonus, but after reading your comment I feel a little less crappy.

PFC (Join to see) that’s a good choice. The next time it’s time for you to reenlist you can be on assignment to the 780th with E6 ASI training and getting that tier 10 bonus as a SGT which is significantly higher than as a PFC
GOOD LUCK

As SFC Boyd says, it is after you are reclassed and whether you are selected for the additional training that leads to the training that grants the ASI. If you don't do well in certain modules at AIT, you may not get the option for the follow on training that leads to the training that leads to the ASI. It's specialized and not available to all 17Cs, which is why it usually has high bonuses. It is not automatic in the pipeline training that you'll receive what you need to get it. Work hard and you may get the option.
