How do I finish my contract out, when I haven’t attended my drill since 2 years ago?

I made a mistake 2 years ago by deciding not to go to drill anymore. I got a letter from SFC saying I could re-enlist and finish my contact. I really want to.

Hell....are you sure you weren't chaptered out for UNSAT participation? After two years, if you are still on the books for your unit, I'll be shocked as shit. And why now after you've been gone for 2 years? You've already shown you are unreliable. You've already shown you can't commit. You've already shown you've wasted the money the government spent to train you.

Depends on the State and their numbers game. We carry people on the books forever and it interferes with the ability for some units to fill what is technically a vacancy, but isn't showing as a vacancy. We try to get them on the discharge tracker so we can B9 'em as a pending loss... but doesn't always happen. There comes a time when you gotta flush the toilet and process them. For us, it's usually around NOV/DEC every FY.

SFC Michael Hasbun - I just find it difficult to believe that he wasn't processed out. 9 U's (UNSATs) is all that is needed to begin the chapter. Of course, there are steps to take prior to the separation process. Certified Letter. Calls. Visits, etc. If all of the above failed to get the SM to return and they have then accumulated 9 U's (which only takes 2 1/2 BTA weekends....then the process starts. And after two years of being gone.....yyyyyeeeeeaaaaaa

MSG (Join to see) - It depends on the unit and the full time staff. So, it is possible if the ARA/UAT isn't doing there job and mailing out the U Letters, etc. or if the BDE keeps changing things for the UNSAT packets or sits on them. We had a MOS packet that was in EPAT for nearly 2 years. So, yeah highly possible.
