I have been in for 2 years and 2 months, back in basic I ended up having a torn labrum in my right hip and then found out after I got to my unit that the top of my femur and my hip socket did not fit together. Meaning my hip socket was too small for the top of my femur bone which caused pinching and the labrum to tear and become damaged. I went under a hip scope to repair the labrum and shave down the inside of my socket and the ball. I am still having issues with my hip, it’s still pinching and moving in abnormal directions, and my other hip is also starting to have the same pinching feeling. My surgeon said that after surgery we could look at the possibility of a med board. My unit wants to send me to WTU if I can’t go to the upcoming field and NTC or the upcoming deployment. I’m in constant pain throughout the day no matter what I’ve done for the day, I’m either at a 6 to 8 pain level everyday with or without physical therapy. I can barely walk for 15 min without being in constant pain. I can barely move my leg in and out or side to side. I don’t want to cause more damage to my hips but it doesn’t seem like anyone thinks there’s a problem. The smallest movements cause intense sharp pain inside the joint.
How do I go about telling my doctor so he understands I do not wish to try and cause more damage to my hips?
