How do I get a VA loan for a house?

I’m 28 and in the Army, and I am clueless when it comes to certain things. I googled it and I don’t understand everything. Can someone just give me the steps involved? Like do I just go to the bank and they check my background and then I sign a contract and have so many years to pay it back?
