You have to complete SSD1 before you can take BLC and SSD2. And if you are not enrolled, you need to talk to your training NCO to have them enroll you.

You have ssd2? then what happens now... you do everything for promotion to E6. As soon as you get approved to get the 6, then you will go to ALC. Based on the new system, no one goes to ALC until they have been approved for the next rank.... I think....

Basically, there should be someone in your company who puts soldiers into school. If they are telling you to go elsewhere, they aren't doing their job. Go to the S3 then and try for it there. Just keep going up the chain. If they still won't do it, then contact IG.

You have to complete ssd2, go to promotion board and get your "P" status. Once you get that then your battalion schools nco will reserve you a seat to attend alc. You will get an email once your reservation is made telling you where to be and when you need to be there. You'll get another email from an sgl from alc telling you what you need to complete before you get there.

SSG James Elmore - I just went to alc back in April. I got my "p" status in January this year and by the mid of February I had my seat reserved for alc, I didn't have to do anything but wait for my class date. The class is a total of 53 days including weekends, ft lee was a good post. A lot of history around there. Any other questions let me know and I'll help you out.

Your unit admin training NCO should be able to assist you in getting set up for any seat reservations for schools and your orders and help you get your check list taken care of, If you are authorized a government travel card the admin can give you instructions on how and what you are allowed to use it and how to reconcile your travel reimbursement to pay off the government card. I personally prefer to use my own money and have the unit purchase the airplane tickets or if I drive I keep my fuel receipts, record of mileage driven, and the total mileage to my destination and home or record, I find that my travel pay is a bit better than when I use the government travel card for experiences and airfare

You actually need to contact your branch manager and your mos branch office. 91B is Ordinance right, so you will have to contact people at Ft Lee. You will likely also need to have your "P" Status if you're an E-5. Because under the new STEP Program they are assigning ALC seats by Date of Rank and Promotable status. Staff Sergeants that haven't attended get first seats, followed by Promotable Sergeants with the most time in grade and current promotions points on their 3355.

Training Rooms & BN S3 have nothing to do with ALC seats. They only help you arrange your TDY orders and get you rental car memos.

SGT (Join to see) - What you have said about the Training NCOs and S3s, may be true, but if they are not involved with the unit's S1 and CSMs in this particular area, they are not performing their jobs and I would consider the units command structure a failure. From what you are saying and what some of the others have implied in this thread is that there is a massive systemic problem in leadership development. The really sad part about this is that OPTEMPO has been used as an excuse in this failure.

How do I get enrolled in Phase 1 (610-91B30-C45) so that I am able to attend ALC? Is this still a requirement or does SSD2 cover it now?

As far as I've been getting told, SSD2 is all you need, then set up for the school

Yup there is. They have taken away the Common Core DL, that you use to do before BNOC/ALC. It is now SSD2.

I am glad I didn't have those problems. My 1Sgt sent me at 2 years in service. I saw a former squad leader at BNCOC in the same class. He could not believe I was there already. Our company sent all NCO's to the academy as soon as possible.

Your leadership did right by you in that respect. Too often I see people blaming the NCO for not having attended NCOES, when it's a leader's responsibility to ensure their Soldiers are getting required training.

training NCO's are the one in charge of sending soldiers for BNOC/ALC ,right?

SGT (Join to see) - You are partially correct. Training NCOs are in charge of Schools and submitting the paperwork or requests for schools and also for keeping track of the metrics around unit readiness regarding training. However, it is a soldier's first line leader's responsibility to ensure that his/her soldier is trained, proficient and mission ready. Ultimately it is the commander's responsibility, but this is the duty delegated down to NCOs, because 1 commander cannot effectively train 100 soldiers personally.

I'm not a 91B, but just searching the course on google and it pulls up the ATRRS course for it. Looks like the 610-91B30-C45 is now phase 3. Read through the bottom portion. Says SSD2 or 600-C45 (DL) are now the requirement to attend ALC.

**Side note on ALC dates if you didn't already know, they are all done off of the OML now.

SSG James Elmore - SSD 2 you should have been automatically enrolled in. If you haven't been then call the ATRRS help desk and they can handle that. If you have already completed SSD2 then call your branch manager and they will connect you to your schools branch manager and let you know where you sit on the OML for ALC. I know in my branch you aren't able to attend ALC now unless you are promotable.

Not a problem brother. I would definitely email, can only imagine how many calls they get a day. If you don't get a response, do what I did and send an email to the whole 13 series CMF group.

Start with either calling or emailing your CMF schools manager.

Not sure about the 91B, but the 91E phase 1 is distance learning through ALMS
