I’m very interested in becoming an Aviation Warrant officer, but I’m not sure who I should contact. Some people were saying normal recruiters are not the route to go? Or is warrant officer considered an enlisted.

Thanks

Also, did you want RPTCs at all? USMC platoon leaders course (PLC) which is less well known? And have you looked at all at aviation programs for other svcs, no solely Army, incl USCG?

Any normal Army recruiter can also send you to the active Army officer recruiters for your district as well, if you'd ask, I'm quite sure...at least sufficient to give you a phone and/or address....

You have a misconception about reality in SVC life, I don't care which svc...you're gonna have to get a Bach and masters minimum immed if you don't have one already if you'd expect to stay in, not just fly...also, you'll be assigned addl duties, just as any warrant or commissioned would...charity drives, once, I had to write up a young airman about a truck accident he had, I found in his favor, as well as profsnl mil educ (PME), trust me, t also isn't about what you want it's about who wants you...that's why you need to broaden yur outlook, and try to tell is more about you, as I'd said....

OK...that helps...more details, OK major you'd want? Range of possible majors? Have you looked at other svcs as I'd said? When I was at USAF OTD, there were numerous others who'd been prior enlisted, one guy even had Navy enlisted dolphins...one guy in my class, or the one after me was prior enlisted, and finished a flo general I'd read, so being prior enlisted does definitely help, certainly...however, tu need to think this through, min very great detail, there are certain life changing events, this is top of that food chain, more than marriage, more tan getting a degree, I assure you...I've pit my hand up twice, had it go wrong twice, I was never used overseas, I'm total perm disabled now, I only tell you qpp that to teach, not to dissuade, OK?

What type of work are you dojg now? What aviation exposure have you had? Also, as an alternative, consider if your state has I, a state guard unit...you can't generally be deployed, and if it's for you, it'd let you test the waters, before just jumping into the pool head first, OK?

Therpse are real militaries, run by the states, real enlistment contracts, real OCS programs, the suppments to the Natl Guard, Air and Army...we know someone I'd suggested it to, he tried it, then went Army Natl Guard (ARNG,the y also supplement Air Natl Guard (ANG), if a Federal svc picks one of theirs up, generally Federal takes precedence and they're let go...ir I'd known thee existed, is have most certainly done it...umderstwmdz they're real, just little known, OK?

The worst thing you can do is impulsively iumo with inadequate info, not knowing what to ask, who to ask, or taking the time to ask, honest, been there, done that (BTDT), promise, I assure you, OK?

I'd wanted to be on the clinical side, go to USIHS the svc !ed school, and start as a bioengineer...one of the USAF OTS recruiters said I was in tyhte wrong office, he tried to steer !e to one of his colleagues, for the Bioenironmental Engineers (BEEs) in the USAF Biomedical Science Corps (BSC), needless to say, I was too stupid to listen, and wound up a line engineer, in the wrong place, under the wrong people, utterly clueless as to my rope, or tasks, way, way over my head, I assure you....

When I went USAF OTS after Army ROTC, that was how it was done, I was denied the first time, reapplied, appealed, and was taken, as there was a shortage of engineers then...obviously, I nevertheless totally bllixed it up, due to my overweening enthusiasm, of course, just as I'd said....

When you're sent to an OCS, in the normal svcs, as opposed to NOAA for their BOTC at USMMA Kings Point, my next younger brother went there, I saw the BOTC, I commissioned him in USNR, pure actually in processed by an enlisted recruiter, though an offer recruiter does your initial packet....

Next...any Army recruiter can send you to their officer program recruiters for their district, though it miuyht take you some time to ask...Natl Giard also has their own recruiters, often their are Army aviation units around the country, with Natl Guard recruiters there who will know about Army WOCS and WOFT, which, as you likely know, only m3eds high school, however, as for active Army, that'd likely be handled separately, by active Army recruiters, it's obv done at Ft Tucker in AL, you could look that up as well, or any Congress office I'm quite certain could also help you get the active duty Army officer recruiting district in your area, either House or Senate vet reps on staff....

Now, all svcs as I'd said have officer program recruiters, often broken down by brand...for Army clinical programs, AMEDD recruiters handle those...however, Army WOCS, which we did have a family friend do, is a quite rough program...he was Army enlisted, got into Army WOCS, finished rotary wing training, served a god many years in that, finished his Bach in aviation at Emory Riddle Univ, then Army released him, USCG picked him up, he finished as a USCG Lt (O-3), I'm unsure if he was USCG OCS, though given he was Army warrant at that time, I expect he went to a direct commission OIS, am indoc school, not their OCS, however, tats just a guess....
