I recently just joined the Guard and I want to transfer states for college reasons. How would I go about doing that and who should I contact?

Talk to your readiness NCO first. Have you already graduated basic and AIT? And what unit are you in the Arkansas Guard? IST are fairly difficult, but if you can find a unit willing to accept you, then that'll make it easier.

PFC (Join to see) - It all depends on how long it takes to find a slot and if they will release you. Are you going to college out of state?

1LT Ryan Millican - That was the plan. I was told to not apply to any colleges because I won't get back in time from AIT. They told me to apply spring of 2017. And that's when I was hoping to transfer states. But Idk what to do.

You may not, it depends on whether or not your class starts on time and when you report to AIT. When I was enlisted I was a 27D and we went to the same school house as 42As and some of us were hold-unders for weeks before our class started. You probably will have to wait to apply till you get back, but I may be wrong on this but you may not be able to request transfer until you accepted to the out of state school and you are living there. I say check with your Readiness NCO, but since your split op, are you still at RSP? If so maybe check with one of your SGTs there, since some of them may be recruiters they should be able to help a little more. But stay on this track and keep your mind on college, and definetly stay involved in here, so far my experience with this site, it can and will help a lot and military is all about networking and it can help tremendously when you enter the work world. If you need anything or any help on anything else don't hesitate to reach out, I'll try my best to help however I can.
