How do soldiers/families celebrate birthdays and holidays while deployed?

Nowadays, CPT Patrick Ryan, on Skype or other similar programs that allow the family to "be there" with the Service Member. In my day, it was with cards and phone calls. Modern technology is a wonder. It has done so much for so many, and that includes deployed GIs.
