How do we as believers bring Glory to our Lord and Savior while serving in the military and afterwards as veterans?

One way we bring glory to God is suffering for Christ. Since not all suffering is undeserved or unmerited, much of the suffering we experience as military personnel and veterans does not bring glory to God directly. Suffering that brings glory to God would include persecution for expressed or tacit belief, fasting from what we desire, placing our desires subordinate to spreading or sustaining the gospel message. We bring glory to God by sharing our faith and always being ready to give an answer for the hope that lies within us with gentleness and respect.

I often watch what I say to other Service Members about God, simply so I cannot be accused of trying to force my beliefs. But I love those moments when someone asks me why I do or say something a certain way because I can always give God that glory and I love the looks I get. All I can do is pray that the love of my Savior can be seen through my actions and that he can use me in his way.

Cassandra, I pray God blesses you with wisdom and that you be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove as you live a life of faith in a seemingly more hostile to faith environment. I think that sharing our faith usually is best achieved by our actions and sometimes helped with our words. May you have ears to hear what the Holy Spirit tells you and be quick to respond.

I just try to help others when I can and to be more mindful of others as well. These days it seems too taboo to talk about Christ so when mentioning his name freely, I guess I can be honest and say that I have to work on that. I suffer in so many other ways that just learning how to give that load up and put it on Christ is hard at times. I silently pray for others if nothing else and that prayer is usually a prayer of good fortune and health and also a yearning for them to be close to God and know their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Nathaniel, thanks for your transparency. The first just under 30 years of my life were opposed to God and everything about Him. By God's grace I survived long enough to recognize that I desperately needed God and submitted my will to His. Thankfully He never changes and His word is sure and true. You will probably never know, this side of Heaven, how much your usually silent faith and prayers are influencing those that the Spirit is wooing into the Kingdom. I pray that God blesses you with encouragement and endurance as you keep up the good fight of faith.

Thank you sir that made my day. Sorry it took so long to respond I couldn't access the Internet for a while. I live out in the middle of nowhere.
