You create value by showing someone that the success of the mission affects them personally or reflects back on them professionally, in order to get them invested. You solve problems by using the OODA(Observe Orient Decide Act) loop then delegating. Isolate.Simplify.Complete. But be careful with these questions chief, the Officers are about to come running with the powerpoints and acronyms lmao. jk jk

You can accomplish that by Leading by example. Employees will follow great leader if they show good leadership, just like in the military. Don't ask your employees to do something that your and not able to do yourself.

How do you create value and how do you solve problems?

That depends on the definition of value...is it monetary, personal capital, intellectual property? What are the measurement metrics? Who measures them and how?

What types of problems are you trying to solve? Technical, personnel, budgetary.... Lots to consider.

Ask lots of questions about what needs to happen and what shouldn't happen and short/long term goals, build ideas from that, and weigh pros and cons with those involved and subject matter experts .

I try to follow Polya's Problem solving Process

Step 1:Understand the Problem
Step 2:Devise a Plan
Step 3: Carry Out the Plan
Step 4: Look Back

You create value by expanding the scope of your job into areas that no one had thought of before. You solve problems one step at a time by breaking the problem down into steps that can be planned and scheduled.

Value is intrinsic. It's always there in everything. The question is do you have the proper perspective and reasoning to validate it? As for problems, you need a clear understanding of the start point and the end point. Then, you're free to choose any way to make the two connect.

All things can be solved with the right amount of explosives! People think that I might just be messed up enough to apply that knowledge in a practical sense. That is where my value comes in. I am a fixer. When you don't care whose feelings get hurt and you want to unfuck it, I am your guy.
