How do you deal with someone trying to call you "Stolen Valor"?

Ignore them

Just do not listen to them. Most likely they never served.

Leave the parking for the Nam vets.

The Lowe's by my house has a reserved section for Veterans. I've never had anyone question me about parking there. I do have veteran listed on my CHL. No VA card though. I agree with SSG Jason Boyd, they don't matter. Just walk away.

Tell them to eat shit and die.

Ask Mr. or Miss Accuser if they served. Ask what gives them the right, after they have been shown a military ID card or VA card to doubt your service.

First off, you don't owe anyone an explanation of your time in the US Military. If someone questions your service, tell them that you have your documents to prove what you've done and tell them to kick rocks. If someone complains because you park in a spot designated for "Superhero Parking", ask them to prove their service and see if they get offended or not. It's no one's business what you or your service records can prove. Unless you are attempting to obtain something illegally, parking in a spot designated for Veterans does not require proof. We have parking spots designated for Purple Heart Recipients all over town where I live, I don't get mad and question whether someone has one or not, I know I do therefore I will park there if the spot is available. I can prove what I have, can they? What does irritate me is when I see family members (not the Veteran) using the Disabled Veteran plates or PH parking spots without the actual Veteran present, they have not earned that right, the Veteran has. I had a woman ask me once why I parked in a handicap spot at the Post Office one day, I literally was on my way home from my doctors appointment for foot and ankle surgery and was wearing a walking boot. Her exact words were "you don't look handicap" to which I replied "well you don't look normal but here we are". I asked her if she was a Medical Doctor to which she replied "No" so I informed her that my medical history was none of her fucking business and walked in and checked my mail. Again, you don't owe anyone an explanation for anything. Show them if you want but you aren't obligated to show anyone anything unless you want to.

I just simpley say, “Enjoy your day”. I say it with a smile. The truth is between me, my fellow veterans and God.

I always found that someone trying to mind my business was a moron. Show ID to the store manager if he asks or the cop that the moron might call. If your talkin' to a vet He/or She probably won't be minding your business anyway.
