Either during the BIG game or scattered amongst the numerous shows, the military means BIG money to supporters. We are featured in movies, TV shows, and commercials - and how does that make you feel? Are we being portrayed in a positive light, being laughed at, or simply being used to further someone's agenda?

Great topic sgt: While I am glad that veterans issues are being communicated in the mass media, I feel that all servicemen are being unfairly sterotyped as being unfit for civilian employment due to the things they hear on tv. You never hear about the well adjusted veteran who does right most of the time. Its good that physical and mental issues are discussed however, the public seems to think that every veteran has an issue and this crap has to stop.

I hear you lance corporal I am doing an investigation into my own sleep disorder. VA is slow with this type of thing where I get treatment in White River Jct Vt. The rest of my treatment is good. Lcpl Ponton do you have a VA service officer helping you? The American Legion , VFW, and state department of veteran's affairs should be able to help you.

Most of the time I think they portray us as Idiots and War Criminals. The only war movies I like is Lone Survivor and Act of Valor. Think that's the name of it.

Well we are certainly being laughed at in Enlisted, but it's so ridiculous and lighthearted that somehow I'm okay with it.

Ma'am I thought about posting something about Enlisted but couldn't bring myself to do it. I think its a ridiculous show and the only thing they get right is calling the SGM, SGM. I can't stand how unrealistic it is but for some reason I still drag myself to the computer to watch it.
