From what I have heard, and noticed, there are soldiers out there with "unique" wardrobes. I came across this resource with a few tips in how to dress in civilian clothing for those of us who are fashion challenged.

I always take issue with the direction for attire during days off/weekends. I work outside and/or on vehicles at home a lot, and my attire is dirty shorts, shirt with sleeves cut off, and usually vibram toe shoes. Do I need to shower, shave, and change into something "respectable" to drive to the auto parts store to drop off used oil or to Home Depot to pick up new thread for my weed whacker? Once I'm dirty and intend to stay working dirty, I stay dirty until the job is done.

Well said. Though, what about the times that required a slightly more polished looking MAJ (Join to see)?

CPT Shephard - depends on what I'm doing. If I'm going to the mall shopping with the wife, I'm not wearing dirty shorts and cut off shirt in the first place. But - 99% of my weekend time is spent on lawn and car maintenance, and I'm not doing that in khaki shorts and loafers.

MAJ Dews,
Sir, this is more so to use when you are not doing dirty work, or spending time with the family. This can be used for the few times you are taking your wife out for a date night, or meeting with co-workers for lunch, or perhaps attending conferences, business meetings and a special event of your family.
I think no matter what type of style you have, you can still look into this resource in case you want to change things up a couple of times.

Unique is OK with me, as long as it's not vulgar or overly outrageous (such as dressing in flip-flops and a light coat of gun oil!! LOL!)

One of my favorite past times is seeing how my Soldiers dress (and peers for that matter). It really gives some insight on their personalities and what they do on their off time.
Thanks for the share, I know I could use some tips too!
