How do you get a joint assignment?

I have heard for years that joint assignments are the way of the future and that as we continue to fight we become a more joint environment. However, I very rarely see any joint assignments in the Army Reserves unless it is overseas with active component. It is just a AC thing or is it just a high command billet with individual augmentees?
