Hello. I am currently a USAR 35F3O and I am looking for information on Direct Commissioning into 17A. Someone told me that it's possible to commission directly into a 17A slot as a reservist so long as I can find the availability (I'm pretty new to USAR so there is still a lot I'm trying to understand). However, I did not find a 17A 2LT position so would direct commissioning be off the table for me as a 35 series?
I have an E4 Cyber ASI on my record due to my last AD assignment and I have Security+ (also due to that assignment), Other than my time in that unit, however, I do not have cyber work experience.
I plan on contacting a recruiter soon but any information before hand would be very useful.

I think your best bet is to contact retention. They can probably see what the slots would be coded as or at least put you in contact with the unit type you would get assigned to and you can go from there, likely a signal or other MI unit but at a higher command level if your current unit can't assist you or accommodate 17a on their books.

I have no information on this but I do know that you’ll never find an O-1 slot, all LT slots are coded O-2/1LT. You could use those slots for your DAP application.
