So I have seen various set ups of badges on uniforms. I knew a guy that would only wear his Halo wings. I guess he wanted to make sure everyone saw them. In some places I have also seen Air Assault above Airborne wings. I think that is a 101st thing. What do you do with yours or can you even fit all your badges?

This is how mine are arranged. I have the drivers badge too, but choose not to wear it because I don't like wearing anything but my CAB above my ribbons.

I was recently awarded the driver badge (which I think its absolutely silly) Did you wear it for your MSG Board DA Photo? I don't think I am? Thoughts?

I did. I think it’s a silly award (along with a few other gimme ribbons), but everything in my SRB was worn in the DA photo that went before the board.

CIB on top, then the tabs(SF and Ranger) side by side, then a sprinkling of ribbons all in rows, and below those come the jump wings and bullwinkle.

I don't have any, but if I did... CAB, Airborne, Air Assault... If I had more than that then I don't know. Doesn't help my OCD that the Pathfinder badge isn't silver.

Missing a few things but nothing special on my uniform. I only wore the ASU 2 or 3 times before I got out. Some units do have informal regulations outside AR 670-1 for awards or skill badges they deem more important such as Ranger school or MWS.
Anything else would be preference. For example if I had done Ranger school, Airborne, and Air Assault I would likely have put the Ranger tab in the middle, because that would look better to me.

Like to wear the 1st Marine Division badge for combat service to honor the Battle for Fallujah where I earned my CIB. Three sets of foreign jump winds but like the Honduran wings best. Not allowed to wear the German Marksmanship Badge (Schutzenschnur) anymore but it sure looked good next to blue cord.

My eyes are old and the photo is blurry, but is your AFEM upside down??? Do push-ups!

You are absolutely correct. Looking at it the blue stripe should be to the left, not red, white, and blue. Thanks, I will fix it. I am getting old too!

I ETS'd in 1977. I somehow lost my dress greens and am trying to rebuild the jacket for my grandson. Cant remember how things went. Really not sure of how jump rings and air assault wings went with an EIB. Any help from back then is appreciated

Here's a link to the 1981 version of 670-1 so it will get you most the way there http://cgsc.cdmhost.com/cdm/ref/collection/p4013coll9/id/602

I have what may seem like a stupid question... but it has been 12 years (circa) and despite AR 670-1 my memory fails me. I know CAB is placed above ribbons. So from left to right UNDER the ribbons should be Airborne, Air Assault, Pathfinder... Correct? I could care less about marksmanship badges. ( my last qualification was only sharpshooter anyhow.).
I am trying to build my shadow box and want it by regulations ( AR 670-1). Can anyone help? Thanks.

Had some spare time, so I dug into the regs a little bit.
From DA PAM 670-1, "(5) The order of precedence for combat and special skill badges are established only by group. There is no
precedence for combat or special skill badges within the same group. For example, personnel who are authorized to
wear the Parachutist and Air Assault badges may determine the order of wear between those two badges." - Page 257
That particular paragraph is what allows local units to do what they want as far as creating an officially non-existent "order of precedence" within a group. (I.e., the Air Assault and Parachutist badges are within the same group). This leads me to believe that it's really done more as a point of pride and local unit SOP than anything.
But it doesn't end there. I kept reading on; the quest continued!
Table 8-1 in AR 600-8-22, page 120, specifically outlines an order of precedence for badges. Which is in total conflict with the previously mentioned provision in DA PAM 670-1. And in it does indeed show the Parachutist Badge to be of a higher precedence than the Air Assault Badge.
So with all the information on the table, I'll pose the question for anyone else who has more knowledge of the subject than I do: Which Army Regulation takes priority with conflicting information? DA PAM 670-1 is of a more recent date, but I haven't seen anything to suggest that it necessarily overrides a provision a different AR (600-8-22).
