How does an EFMP denial and reassignment work in Germany?

I just recently came up on orders to Germany next year, and I seriously couldnt be more excited about it! I am currently going through the EFMP process since my wife has certain health issues (mild asthma, PCOS), I learned today that if where I am going (Grafenwoehr) dosent have the nessecitites to tend to my wifes medical needs, that i may be re assigned to a different assignment that DOES have what she requires. Now the question here is, and im sorry if this is a really stupid question but I cant seem to find an answer for it...Will they try and re assign me to a different part of Germany? Or will that be completely out of the question? Right now I am trying to get all the info I need before I PCS. Any info that anyone can help me with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

More than likely you will be reassigned in the States.
I will tell you this is...well to put it lightly, retarded.
I sincerely doubt your wife has an issue that the Germans can not accommodate but unfortunately the Army doesn't look at it this way.
But to answer your question, if denied, you'll be reassigned CONUS (sorry dude).
Grafenwöhr, other than Ramstein (which you will be assigned to), is fairly built up as opposed to Ansbach or Baumholder.
Group is out of Stuttgart but unless you've got wings on your chest, you'll likely never be stationed there.
Sorry brother. Germany is a great assignment, I wish you luck.
If by chance you get the assignment and have questions, shoot me a PM with your concerns.
Be safe!

This does not answer your question, but my spouse has nearly the same issues (mild asthma and endometriosis, which is similar enough it is often mistaken for PCOS), and we were still allowed to PCS to Ansbach (less than two hours from Graf, with far less in the way of medical amenities). Essentially, you need the installation to have a gynecologist who's familiar with the condition (most are). I would recommend contacting the EFMP coordinator in Graf and see if the post can accommodate you. If they can, I would politely advise branch of such.

If you dont mind me asking, how is your wifes asthma over there? We are currently at Fort hood, tx and here she always gets flare ups.

In my experience, they will revoke your orders and "draw from the hat" again. CSM (Join to see) might be able to guide you in the right direction.

In my experience (I was on order 3 times the first was a reenlistment option and coming out of Korea pre 9/11 you got first shot at assignments) they will cancel your orders. My children had mild asthma and my orders were canceled without warning. The second and third time I called "Branch" and asked if they were going to let me go with my family....they said I would have to go alone. I told them I was not going to do that so they cancelled my orders. I knew then I needed to request something fast or they would try to send me to a "hardship" tour.

This happened to be not to long ago. They will look at your EFMP and see is she will be cleared to live in that area. If she is not cleared then your branch will get the notice and you will lose that assignment. Stay on top of your ranch, because if you don't you can end up staying at your current location. Get on the phone and ask about other options if this falls through.
Good luck.
Good luck.

It depends, usually another part of Germany (Graf is meh overall). I hardly hear of people being denied their area

They have Landstuhl (4-5 hours away) which is fantastically equiped. And there are numerous hospitals in the Area of Graf. For example Amberg and Weiden. Those hospitals are really good equiped. However, I am not a doctor but I wish you luck. Graf is an awesome duty station. Maybe you can give Landstuhl a call and see if they are able to treat those conditions.

Contact local EFMP personnel and discuss with them. Check on HRC page for the EFMP office and call them. These are professionals who have a better idea than the layman on here. Otherwise, my thought is that you would be reassigned stateside if EFMP decides that there is not sufficient care available in Germany. I'd venture a guess that most accompanied duty stations are set up for many standard medical conditions.

SPC (Join to see) I would suggest that you talk to your efmp coordinator at your base, try to see if there are facilities in Germany that could accommodate your wife, and then with that information contact your branch manager to see if they can keep you in that assignment on the other location.
