How does marriage/stationing of newly commissioned officers work?

The Married Army Couples Program (MACP) provides Soldiers the opportunity to establish a joint domicile while fulfilling the Army's mission. Service members in the following categories may apply: Regular Army (RA), USAR Active Guard Reserve (AGR) and Title 10 ANGUS AGR Soldiers married to active duty members of the RA, RCs, other active duty U.S. military Services, USAR Active Guard Reserve (AGR) and Title 10 ANGUS,

In accordance with AR 614-200 Section IV, enrollment in the MACP does not guarantee reassignment together but does ensure that both Soldiers will be automatically considered for future joint-domicile assignments. Soldiers should submit a DA Form 4187 requesting enrollment in the MACP, with a copy of their marriage certificate to their Bde S-1/BCT or MPD who will take the necessary action to update to the Total Army Personnel Data Base (TAPDB).

I was married to another Navy officer. I can provide the 2 cents that I know... The best thing you can do is figure out who your detailers are, and make sure they understand your situation. Most times, unless there are unusual demands, they will try to work with you... The only thing I would say, and I am not trying to force you into anything, if you 2 aren't married it really means nothing to them. The other thing is to plan to spend time apart, it is inevitable.

Married Army Couple Program. Though you are going into the reserve component it may not help you. Basically, you will have to follow her around. If you go active duty let the MI branch and your branch know you will be getting married. They will coordinate with each other to get you in the same state. That means, Fort Bliss and Fort Hood; Fort Lee and Fort Myer. They try to work with you but sometimes it doesn't work out that great. I was at Hunter Air field and my wife was at Fort Steward. I had to decline an Apache for a Blackhawk in order to be stationed together.
