Tried to find info online first - As of this month I am now within my 36 month TIS requirement to pin SFC. If ( and hopefully WHEN ) I pick up SFC, I will now need to reenlist in order to promote. As someone who has seemingly always missed out on sweet bonuses, I see that there are EOD SSG bonuses currently.

BLUF: As I am reenlisting as a SSG IOT meet SFC requirements, likely with ~30ish months remaining on my contract, how does that affect receiving a bonus? If I reup for 6 years, will it subtract the time remaining on my current enlistment? I.E., 6 years MINUS 30 months?

Side note: I am under 12 years, will not be indef.

Thanks in advance - currently at a Naval assignment and not easily able to speak to a retention NCO.

That is exactly correct. You subtract the new ETS from the old ETS in whole months.

You're at a Naval assignment so you're at an unmissioned command. That means you don't belong to any Career Counselor, so any Career Counselor can help you.

Email me at [login to see] and I'll help you with anything you need. If you work with any other Army personnel who need help you can pass them my number.
